Sumac Spice

Sumac is a popular Middle-Eastern spice, with a sweet flavor much like lemon. Similar to a squeeze of lemon juice over a finished recipe, sumac is at its best when sprinkled over a dish just before serving. It's a great solution if you want the flavor of lemon in a dish, but don't want added liquid in your recipe. It also shines as an addition to meat rubs, and to stronger meats like lamb, duck, or game. Its dark red color adds visual appeal to the top of a bowl of fresh hummus! Our Ground Sumac is blended with a touch of salt, so account for that by reducing salt in your recipe if needed.
