Gumbo Filé Powder

Inland Empire Spice Gumbo Filé is produced from dried and ground sassafras leaves, Filé is traditionally used in Creole dishes to provide thickness and adds a distinctive, earthy flavor and texture. Made from the dried leaves of the sassafras tree, it is the essential seasoning for gumbo. Shake sparingly on top of gumbo, soups and rice dishes just before serving as a delicate seasoning and thickener.
