Halibut Baked with Everything Bagel Seasoning

Ingredients

4 4-oz portions of halibut (or other sturdy white fish)

4 Tbsp Everything Bagel Seasoning

2 Tbsp all-purpose flour

1 Tbsp mayonnaise

2 tsp Jazzy Lemon Pepper Seasoning

spray vegetable oil as needed

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Spray a rimmed cookie sheet with spray vegetable oil (food release oil.) Set Halibut filets on the pan, and pat dry with a paper towel. Brush each filet with mayonnaise, creating a thin layer on both the top and the sides. Mix together Everything Bagel Seasoning, flour, and Jazzy Lemon Pepper Seasoning in a small bowl. Use a spoon to sprinkle the seasoning mix onto each filet, then press the seasoning lightly into the fish using the back of the spoon. Make an effort to get seasoning on the sides of the filets too.

Bake the fish filets for 10-15 minutes. Check after 10 minutes. If your fish is somewhat fatty, the crust will lose its white "floury" appearance. If this hasn't happened after 10 minutes of baking, remove the cookie sheet from the oven and lightly spray the filets with vegetable oil spray. Return to the oven and finish cooking. Filets are done when the fish flakes lightly under pressure from a fork.

Serve immediately. In our photo, we pair the dish with spaghetti in pesto sauce -- a delicious combination.
