Cardamom - Whole Green
The dried green Cardamom seed pods are used in Indian curries and other dishes and other Asian cuisines, either whole or ground. The Cardamom pods can be ground with coffee beans to make the fragrant Saudi coffee, qahwa, or steeping them in milk to make Afghan tea.
Whole cardamom pods are used in savory meat and vegetable Indian and Middle Eastern recipes. Ground Cardamom is used in both Middle Eastern and Scandinavian baked goods, such as cakes, cookies, muffins, and buns. Since cardamom loses flavor quickly once ground, it is often better to buy the whole pods, which can be stored for a long time, and grind only the amount needed for a recipe.
